Spring Forward – Fall Backwards

Daylight savings starts this Sunday - being the last Sunday of September!  So put your clocks forward an hour when you go to bed on the Saturday night.

I’m trying to sprout my peas and beans from seed in containers in the lounge at present – hoping that by the time they sprout and are ready to plant outside, we will be over the worst of the wintery weather.  But, it is Dunedin and we are blessed/cursed with temperamental, changeable conditions at any time of the year.  The basil will grow inside as I found this worked for me last year.  Woody, one of our dogs, is beyond excited at the smell of compost and keeps appearing with a very guilty look on his face and suspicious dirt on his moosh from my strawberries outside.

New Products:
We have just listed some new products on the website that we are excited to bring to you.  Tajin Mexican Seasoning with lime, Chongos Zamoranos traditional Mexican curdled milk dessert, Taza Oaxacan style Chocolate Sampler, and 3 delicious flavours of Herdez Cooking Sauces.

Due to the high amount of interest we have had with the Tajin, we are exploring other similar products from this Producer – stay tuned to Facebook for further updates.

Special Mention:
Something else that we think deserves a special mention, is the Quick Start Chili Mix.  It’s a personal favourite of mine as I am a vegetarian, but you can also mix it up and add lean mince etc and cook either on stove top or in the slow cooker.  The all-natural flavours are amazing – impress your guests.

If you are a carnivore – brown off a kilo of lean ground beef, add a couple of tins of 440gms-crushed tomatoes and cook together with the bean mix as indicated on the pack.
